President Bola Tinubu arrived in Lagos on Friday for a working visit as the nation prepares for a low-key celebration of its 65th Independence Anniversary.
According to his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President moved to Lagos after attending the coronation of the new Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, in Oyo State.
During his stay in Lagos, President Tinubu is expected to hold meetings with senior government officials and leading figures in the private sector. He will also commission the remodelled National Theatre, now renamed the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts, as part of the Independence anniversary activities.
On Tuesday, September 30, the President is scheduled to visit Imo State to inaugurate projects executed by Governor Hope Uzodimma.
Meanwhile, President Tinubu has extended warm felicitations to Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners Chapel), on the occasion of his 71st birthday.
In his goodwill message, Tinubu praised Oyedepo as “a towering figure of influence and impact” in Nigeria, Africa, and beyond, commending his dedication to spiritual, educational, and humanitarian causes.
The President highlighted the role of Oyedepo’s institutions — including Kingdom Heritage Schools, Faith Academy, Covenant University, and Landmark University — in promoting skills, entrepreneurship, and human development.
“You have built one of Africa’s most impactful Christian ministries from humble beginnings,” Tinubu said, noting the bishop’s contributions to education, infrastructure, health, and nation-building.
He prayed for Oyedepo’s continued good health, long life, and wisdom “to lift more individuals, families, and nations with the Word of Faith.”
