Nigeria’s Flying Eagles have arrived in Talca, Chile, ahead of their campaign in this year’s FIFA U-20 World Cup. The team landed on Thursday afternoon and will compete in Group F alongside Norway, Saudi Arabia, and Colombia, with all matches scheduled to hold in Talca.
On arrival, the two-time World Cup runners-up were received by FIFA officials, members of the Local Organizing Committee, and their host hotel staff. The squad later held an evening training session as part of their final build-up to the tournament and are currently lodged at Hotel Diego de Almagro.
Before heading to Talca, the team concluded a 12-day training camp in Santiago, where they played two friendly matches — a 1-1 draw against host nation Chile and a 3-1 victory over Australia on Tuesday.
Nigeria will open their World Cup campaign against Norway on Monday, September 29, at Estadio Fiscal de Talca, before facing Saudi Arabia and Colombia in their remaining Group F fixtures.
