Terrorists Kidnap Students from Niger School, Seven Abducted on Sagamu–Ijebu-Ode Road

Terrorists have abducted students of St. Mary’s School, a Catholic-owned institution in Papiri community, Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State.

The attack occurred around 2:00 a.m. on Friday.

Confirming the incident, the Secretary to the Niger State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Usman, said the exact number of students taken had not yet been established, as security agencies were still assessing the situation.

Niger State Commissioner of Police, CP Adamu Abdullahi Ellema, also confirmed the abduction. He said police tactical teams, military units, and other security operatives had been deployed to the area and were combing surrounding forests in an effort to rescue the students.

In a separate incident on the Sagamu–Ijebu-Ode expressway, gunmen reportedly killed one person and abducted seven travellers.

Security operations were ongoing at the time of this report.
