Nollywood actress Bukola Arugba has criticised Kwara State First Lady, Olufolake Abdulrazaq, over her description of the November 18 attack on a church in Eruku as “attempted,” insisting the incident was a fully executed assault that claimed lives and led to multiple abductions.

In a video posted on Instagram, Arugba said the First Lady’s comment did not reflect the severity of the attack, which occurred during a church programme streamed online. Gunmen were reported to have killed three worshippers and abducted several others, including the pastor.

Arugba, who is from Eruku, said the official narrative contradicted eyewitness accounts and the situation on the ground. “The information you got from the Kwara State Police is false, ma. This involves my people directly… it was a successful attack, not an attempted attack,” she said.

She revealed that members of her extended family were among those kidnapped. According to her, “Three, four of my cousins are in the bandits’ den right now. Evangelist Titi Balogun, my mum’s younger sister, and Ebenezer Aina, my cousin’s son, are all there.”

The actress also confirmed the recorded casualties. “Three people are dead,” she stated, calling for accurate reporting and urgent government action to secure the victims’ release.
