A viral social-media clip shows Nollywood actress Regina Daniels appearing upset as she alleges violence in her marriage to Senator Ned Nwoko, saying she no longer feels safe in his home. In the footage Daniels is heard saying: “In Ned Nwoko’s house I am nothing, but in my own house I am a queen. Not again I can’t stand the violence, it’s too much.”
The video drew an immediate and angry reaction from a man identified on social media as the actress’s brother, who used his Instagram Story to warn he would defend her. In the post he wrote, in part: “Makachi! E pain me say una wan finally laugh my sister. Let me repeat, anywhere wey man dey beat woman, whether na my sister or not, I go fight with my bleed!” He also addressed Senator Nwoko directly with a profane threat accusing him of physical assault.
Regina Daniels married Senator Ned Nwoko in 2019, and their relationship has attracted intense public attention since the wedding. At the time of filing, neither Daniels nor Senator Nwoko had issued an official statement responding to the video or the allegations.
