Residents of Ganaru in Magama Local Government Area have discovered an unexploded device suspected to be a missile, just three days after gunmen killed over 40 people in Kasuwar Daji, burned a Mobile Police checkpoint, and ransacked homes.

The device is reportedly a Tomahawk missile warhead of United States origin, raising fresh safety concerns for the community. Sources warned that locals could mistakenly handle such unexploded ordnance as scrap metal, unaware of the extreme danger posed by the 600-pound high-explosive warhead.

The discovery follows the Kasuwar Daji market massacre, where bandits deliberately attacked the Mobile Police checkpoint to delay security response, leaving residents vulnerable. The assaults and destruction have left communities on edge.

Local authorities have urged residents to report any suspicious objects immediately and to avoid touching unexploded devices, highlighting the potential for catastrophic accidents.
