The security unit of the University of Calabar, UNICAL, has detained Emmanuel Uwakwe for impersonation during the institution’s recent aptitude exam. Uwakwe, was apprehended while committing the unlawful act inside the school.
Speaking to reporters, the institution’s Chief Security Officer, Cpt Austin Bisong (rted), said that Mr Uwakwe was reprimanded after completing the task for six of the seven people who hired him to write the Computer Based Test, CBT, for them.
According to Cpt Bisong, Uwakwe was apprehended by security staff after he overstayed his time on the computer.
Speaking further, the CSO noted that the investigation was ongoing, and that they would leave no stone unturned in getting to the bottom of the matter and determining if there was an insider involved in the con game, adding that the suspects would be handed over to police for further investigation and prosecution.
The contrite suspect revealed that he was given 50,000 naira to write for seven candidates, and he begged the university administration for mercy while apologizing for his actions.
