Local media reports that two children and their parents were discovered dead in their home in the Brittany region on the northern French coast.
The killing of family members appears to be related to the separation of the parents, according to preliminary investigations, the public prosecutor’s office in Brest announced on Sunday evening ( October 30th).
The 41-year-old man was discovered hanged, according to the report.
His eight and eleven-year-old children were dead in their beds, and his 38-year-old wife was dead in the marital bed.
Initial investigations revealed that the bodies had no external injuries and that no weapons had been used.
Autopsies are being used to determine the causes of death.
Earlier, on Sunday morning, the gendarmerie and fire brigade went to the house in the village of Carantec because the woman’s mother had not been able to reach her since Saturday (October 30th) and had called emergency services.
