The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced that its air component of Operation Hadin Kai killed more than 35 terrorist fighters in precision strikes near the Nigeria–Cameroon border on Saturday.
A statement by NAF spokesperson, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the terrorists had converged near Kumshe after attempting to attack ground troops before being engaged by the air interdiction mission.
Ejodame explained that the strikes were based on multiple intelligence sources, with aircrews executing successive passes on four identified assembly points. He added that ground forces later confirmed the area had been stabilised following the operation.
“The latest operation demonstrates the NAF’s unwavering commitment to providing close air support to ground forces, while also disrupting terrorist logistics and movement corridors along the North-east border regions,” the statement read.
Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, commended the professionalism of the aircrew, assuring that the force would sustain aggressive, intelligence-driven operations aimed at completely degrading terrorist elements threatening Nigeria’s sovereignty.
