‎Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, has disclosed that Nigeria’s women’s national football team is yet to receive the $100,000 cash reward promised by President Bola Tinubu.

‎President Tinubu had announced the monetary gift during a special reception in honour of the team for winning the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

‎In addition to the cash prize, the players and coaching staff were also promised houses and conferred with national honours.

‎Speaking in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Ajibade confirmed that none of the pledges have been fulfilled so far.

‎ “We have not received our money, but hopefully, it will be paid,” she said. “They have not paid; all the promises, we have not received anything.”

‎Interestingly, just a week after the announcement for the Super Falcons, President Tinubu made a similar pledge of cash rewards, houses, and honours to Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, D’Tigress.
