Former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has dismissed reports of a political alliance between former Governor Nasir El-Rufai, Senator Suleiman Abdu Kwari Ashiru, and opposition parties, describing any attempt to unseat Governor Uba Sani in the 2027 elections as doomed to “fail woefully.”
Speaking at a press conference in Kaduna on Monday, Sani said the opposition lacks grassroots support and a solid organizational structure to challenge the ruling administration across the state.
He expressed confidence in Governor Uba Sani’s reelection prospects, citing the administration’s achievements in governance, security, infrastructure, and inclusive leadership. “There is no political plot—individual or party—that can override the will of the people of Kaduna State,” he said.
Sani highlighted key initiatives under Uba Sani’s government, including a $200 million poultry project, the Kaduna Light Rail project, and multi-billion-naira skills acquisition programs benefiting youths and women. He also commended improvements in healthcare, education, and human capital development, emphasizing that service delivery, not propaganda, determines electoral success.
He urged political actors in the state to embrace issue-based politics rather than “paper alliances and elite conspiracies.”
