Nigerian rapper Keshinro Ololade, popularly known as Lil Kesh, has survived an armed robbery attack in Lagos that left him with stab wounds.
The incident occurred on Wednesday when unidentified assailants reportedly attempted to snatch his jewellery, including a necklace. The 30-year-old artiste sustained injuries to his neck and ear and was rushed to a hospital, where doctors stitched his wounds and stabilised him.
Graphic images of his injuries circulated on social media, sparking concern among fans. Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Lil Kesh reassured his followers, writing: “Life threw me a curveball, but I’m safe, healing, and blessed to be here. Grateful for the love, support and prayers.”
The rapper rose to fame in 2014 with his hit single Shoki under Olamide’s YBNL record label. In May, he reflected on the pressures of early success, noting that achieving stardom at 19 deprived him of valuable life experiences.
While police are yet to issue an official statement on the robbery, fans and fellow artistes have continued to send messages of support as Lil Kesh recovers.
