The Nigeria Police Force has denied the authenticity of a document circulating on social media alleging an immediate withdrawal of police officers attached to certain VIPs.
In a statement on Friday, the Force Headquarters described the document—purportedly issued by the 50 Police Mobile Force (PMF) Squadron in Abuja and signed by one CSP Suleiman Abdullahi—as fake. The police clarified that no officer by that name serves in the squadron and that the PMF does not assign Chief Superintendents of Police to the role of Admin Officer.
“The document is a fabrication aimed at misleading the public and creating confusion,” the statement said.
The Police, however, confirmed that the implementation of the Presidential Directive on the withdrawal of officers from VIP security duties is already underway. It noted that the process is being executed gradually and professionally to avoid security lapses that criminals could exploit.
Reassuring the public, the Force emphasized that national security remains a priority and urged Nigerians to rely only on official channels for verified information.
“The Nigeria Police Force is committed to transparency, accountability, and the protection of lives and property,” the statement added.
