Paul Pogba believes Manchester United are letting go of a “great player” in Marcus Rashford, who is on the verge of completing a loan move to Barcelona.
The 27-year-old England international is understood to have completed his medical with the Catalan club on Monday morning after flying into the city from the northwest on Sunday. An official unveiling is expected on Wednesday.
Manchester United and Barcelona have agreed to an initial loan deal for the 2025–26 season, with the Spanish giants covering his full wages and holding an option to make the move permanent next summer.
Speaking during a chat with YouTuber IShowSpeed, Pogba shared his thoughts on the move:
“That’s crazy, but I’m happy for him—especially since they took his number. Manchester United are losing a great player. Unlucky for them.”
“It’s a big win for Barcelona, to be honest. I’m not even blaming United too much—they’ve brought in some new players, and the new manager seems to be building his own squad.”
“If he [the manager] doesn’t believe in someone, it’s not really his fault. He has to win games. If he doesn’t, they’ll sack him.”
