The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors and National Chairman were absent from the official inauguration of the party’s presidential campaign council on Wednesday.

It was also an event to launch three books on Atiku Abubakar’s leadership style and contribution to Nigeria’s democratic and constitutional growth.

The titles of the books are Atiku Abubakar’s Story, Atiku Abubakar’s Landmark Constitutional Law Cases, and Restructuring as a Pathway to Unity and Developments.

Absent governors include Rivers State’s Nyesom Wike, Oyo State’s Seyi Makinde, Benue State’s Samuel Ortom, Abia State’s Okezie Ikpeazu and prof. Jerry Gana.

While, Delta State Governor and PDP Vice Presidential Candidate for 2023, Ifeanyi Okowa; Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki; Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri; Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed; Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri; Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal; and Akwa Ibom Governor, Udom Emmanuel, former Senate Presidents Bukola Saraki and David Mark were among those present at the event.

Recall Wike and Atiku have been at loggerhead since the party’s presidential primary election in May. Atiku won the election, but Wike claims there was a conspiracy against him, naming the party’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, as one of those allegedly involved.
