Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), blaming persistent leadership turmoil at the national level for his withdrawal.
Adeleke formalised his exit in a letter dated November 4, 2025, addressed to the PDP Chairman of Ward 2, Sagba Abogunde, in Ede North Local Government Area. In the letter, he said the unending crisis within the party’s national leadership made his continued membership untenable.
“Due to the current crisis within the national leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), I hereby resign my membership of the People’s Democratic Party with immediate effect,” he wrote.
The governor also expressed appreciation to the PDP for the political platform on which he was elected Senator representing Osun West and later Governor of Osun State.
“I thank the People’s Democratic Party for the opportunities given to me for my elections as a Senator and as Governor of Osun State,” he added.
