Nigeria’s Super Eagles delivered a dominant performance on Monday night, overpowering Mozambique 4–0 in their Round of 16 clash at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Ademola Lookman opened the scoring in the 20th minute with a stunning finish, setting the tone for a commanding Nigerian display. Victor Osimhen doubled the advantage five minutes later, calmly converting from close range to give the Super Eagles a firm grip on the contest before halftime.

Nigeria maintained their intensity after the break, and Osimhen struck again early in the second half, finishing off another well-constructed move to make it three. Substitute Akor Adams completed the rout in the 75th minute, firing home Nigeria’s fourth to cap a near-perfect night for the three-time African champions.

Lookman was the standout performer, orchestrating Nigeria’s attack with a goal and multiple assists, while Osimhen’s brace underlined his importance to the Super Eagles’ title ambitions. The result makes Nigeria the first team to score 4 goals in a match with a clean sheet.

Mozambique, playing in the knockout stages for the first time, struggled to cope with Nigeria’s pace and physicality and were ultimately outclassed.
The emphatic victory sends Nigeria into the quarter-finals, where they will face either Algeria or the Democratic Republic of Congo, as they continue their push for a fourth AFCON title.
