Liverpool have turned down Bayern Munich’s opening bid for Luis Diaz, believed to be worth £58.5 million.
Sky Sports News first revealed on July 2 that Liverpool had made it clear to Bayern that Diaz is not for sale. Despite this, Bayern proceeded with a formal offer, confident that the Colombian forward is interested in a move to Germany.
However, Liverpool’s stance remains unchanged. The club views Diaz as a key part of their squad—not just for the upcoming season, but for the duration of his current contract, which runs for another two years.
Liverpool have reportedly communicated this position to all interested parties, including Barcelona, who have also shown interest this summer.
Internally, the Reds value Diaz at over £86 million (€100 million) and have not set an asking price, as they have no intention of selling him.
Diaz, 28, has also attracted attention from clubs in Saudi Arabia. That same market recently valued Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes, two years older than Diaz, at around £86.8 million (€100 million).
While Diaz was reportedly open to a move in the past two summer windows, he remained a vital part of Liverpool’s campaign last season, scoring 13 goals in 36 Premier League appearances as the club went on to win the title.
