Bishop Sunday Onuoha, co-chair of the Interfaith Peace and Dialogue Forum, has stated that discussions to free the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, and to politically settle the issues surrounding his continuous detention are still ongoing.
The pastor, who revealed this at an interactive meeting with the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Abia State chapter in Umuahia, expressed hope that the issue would be addressed soon.
Bishop Onuoha, who has been in the forefront of attempts to liberate the pro-Biafra movement leader, stated that Kanu’s continued arrest was the primary source of rising tension and insecurity in the South East.
He reiterated that the only answer to the Federal Government’s Kanu problem is a political one, and asked President Muhammadu Buhari to listen to the calls for a peaceful resolution.
