Inter Milan have opened negotiations to sign Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman, according to reports from Sky in Italy.
The Nerazzurri have already reached an agreement in principle with the player and are now working to strike a deal with Atalanta.
The Bergamo club, who clinched the 2024 UEFA Europa League title with Lookman scoring a historic hat-trick in the final, are reportedly demanding at least £43 million (€50 million) for the 27-year-old.
However, Inter remain firm on a previously agreed valuation of £34.6 million (€40 million), based on a promise made to Lookman’s representatives last summer. The club is unwilling to increase its offer beyond this figure.
Should negotiations collapse, Inter are expected to consider alternative targets including Juventus’ Nico González, Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho, and Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku.
Lookman has netted 39 goals in 93 appearances for Atalanta since joining from RB Leipzig, following loan spells at Fulham and Leicester City. A product of Charlton Athletic’s youth academy, he made his Premier League debut with Everton after a £11 million move in 2017.
