The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), winner of the November 8, 2025, Anambra State governorship election.
The State Returning Officer, Prof. Edoba Omoregie, announced the results at INEC headquarters in Awka on Sunday, confirming Soludo’s victory after collating votes from all 21 local government areas. Soludo polled 422,664 votes, defeating his closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who received 99,445 votes. Sir Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) came third with 37,753 votes.
A total of 16 candidates contested the election. The state has 2,788,864 registered voters, with 598,229 accredited voters. 595,298 votes were cast, of which 11,244 were rejected. Some incidents affected a few wards in Anambra West, Anaocha, Awka South, and Onitsha South, totaling 10,481 votes, but they did not alter the overall outcome.
Prof. Omoregie described the election as peaceful and confirmed that Soludo satisfied all legal requirements to be returned elected.
