On Thursday, November 3rd, 1085, 2021 Batch C Stream II National Youth Service Corps members graduated from various local government areas in Gombe State, with exception of six corpers, who are expected to return, and four others who absconded during their time in Gombe.
Mrs. Ada Imoni, the state coordinator, urged corps members in Gombe Local Government Area not to belittle their modest beginnings by putting the skills acquired through the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme to good use.
According to her, the era of relying on the government for white-collar jobs had passed, and she urged them to consider ways to start businesses for self-sufficiency.
Imoni also urged them to reject thuggery and other social vices as the scheme prepared corps members for the 2023 general elections.
Imoni praised those who distinguished themselves in Community Development Service by leaving indelible imprints in their host communities.
Imoni while visiting the various locations throughout the state where corps members were issued certificates of national service, notedin her statement that;
“Six of the 1085 Corps members who graduated received service extensions for various offenses committed, while four absconded from service,”.
