Los Angeles police have arrested four teenagers in connection with a burglary at actor Brad Pitt’s Los Feliz home, part of a wider series of “celebrity burglaries” targeting actors and professional athletes.
Police Chief Jim McDonnell said the suspects — males aged 18, 18, 17, and 16 — are members of a street gang. Stolen property was recovered during searches of their homes, though authorities did not disclose details of the items seized.
The investigation began in late June after masked intruders broke into Pitt’s three-bedroom residence near Griffith Park, shattering a window before fleeing with valuables. Pitt was away promoting his new film, F1, at the time. While police did not officially confirm the home belonged to the actor, the address matched a property he purchased in 2023.
Authorities believe the group is linked to other high-profile break-ins involving celebrities such as Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban, LA Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and former LAFC striker Olivier Giroud.
McDonnell said the burglars used sophisticated tactics, including hidden cameras to monitor victims’ routines and wi-fi jammers to disable security systems. He warned that celebrities and athletes are especially vulnerable due to their public schedules, and cautioned against sharing travel plans on social media.
“When you post about where you are and what you’re doing, you’re also telling people who may be looking to exploit the situation,” he said.
