The Dangote Group has entered new technical partnerships with leading international engineering firms to support the expansion of its fertiliser operations in Nigeria and the development of new plants in Ethiopia.
The company said the collaborations are part of a long-term strategy to boost agricultural productivity, strengthen regional food security, and deepen Africa’s role in the global fertiliser market.
According to a statement from the Group, the new partnerships will raise its urea production capacity in Nigeria from three million metric tons to nine million metric tons annually. The current facility operates two production trains, while the expansion will add four more to meet rising demand for high-quality fertiliser across Africa and beyond.
The Group also recently held the groundbreaking for a $2.5 billion fertiliser plant in Gode, Ethiopia. The project, designed to produce three million metric tons of urea annually, is expected to bolster food security and industrial growth across the continent.
Dangote added that Topsoe, one of its technical partners, will provide ammonia technology licences and complete process design packages for six ammonia plants four in Nigeria and two in Ethiopia. The company is globally recognised for its advanced and environmentally responsible ammonia production technologies.
Meanwhile, Dangote Cement Plc has reaffirmed its commitment to community development through sustained social investment programmes across its host communities in Nigeria and other African countries.
