A Federal High Court in Abuja has convicted the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, on all seven terrorism-related charges filed against him by the Federal Government.
Delivering the judgment on Thursday, Justice James Omotosho ruled that the prosecution proved each allegation beyond reasonable doubt. He noted that Kanu did not present a credible defence and “deliberately failed” to challenge the evidence brought by the government.
The verdict marks a major development in the government’s ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and address separatist activities in the South-East region.
