The Benue State House of Assembly has suspended its immediate past Speaker, Aondona Dajoh, for three months over allegations of misleading members.

The motion for his suspension was moved on Tuesday by Terna Shimawua and seconded by James Umoru, both of whom had earlier been suspended by Dajoh before his resignation as Speaker.

Presiding over plenary, the new Speaker, Alfred Emberga, also oversaw the confirmation of Associate Professor Ornguga and other nominees previously rejected by the Assembly.

In a separate resolution, the lawmakers lifted the suspension of the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and two other officials.
