General Idris Warrah, Theatre Commander of Sector 2 Joint Task Force, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, has pledged to intensify military operations against bandits in the North West, warning that the Nigerian Army will leave no hiding place for criminals.
Addressing troops at the 8 Division Headquarters in Sokoto on Wednesday, General Warrah emphasized that the Army is battle-ready and fully committed to dismantling criminal networks and restoring peace.
“No stone will be left unturned until banditry is eradicated,” he said. “We are not here to negotiate, dance, or celebrate with bandits. Our mission is clear — defeat the enemy and restore peace to our people.”
He urged soldiers to maintain discipline, loyalty, and operational readiness, stressing that sustained offensive engagements require resilience, focus, and unwavering commitment.
Accompanied by Major General Ibikunle Ajose, General Officer Commanding 8 Division, General Warrah reassured troops of the Army’s commitment to their welfare. He noted that wounded personnel would continue to receive proper care and support, and commended them for clearing hideouts, recovering territories, and seizing weapons.
During a visit to the 248 Recce Battalion in Illela, he inspected facilities, acknowledging progress while urging continuous improvement.
“The foundation of the Nigerian Army is built on discipline and resilience,” he said. “Now is the time to stand tall and end this menace once and for all.”
