The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), a group that advocates for Muslims’ rights in Nigeria, has slammed former House of Representatives Speaker Yakubu Dogara for his condemnation of the All Progressives Congress’s Muslim-Muslim ticket.
Recall Dogara urged Christians in Nigeria not to waste their votes in the 2023 election by voting for the APC’s Muslim/Muslim presidential ticket.
The lawmaker and several other Nigerians have condemned the party’s Muslim/Muslim presidential ticket, calling it unfair and an insult to Christians in Nigeria.
However, in response to Dogara’s call for Christians not to vote for the APC in the 2023 presidential election, MURIC questioned why the lawmaker and others rejected Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, a Christian, in the APC presidential primary election and instead chose a Muslim.
The Bauchi Chapter Chairman of MURIC, Barrister Idrees Safiyanu Gambo, called on Dogara to follow the spirit of his name and ‘Dogara ga Allah’, which means leave everything to God, rather stand in opposition against God’s will.
