Former world champion Amir Khan is set to bring world-class boxing to Nigeria for the first time with a major fight night scheduled for October 1 in Lagos, coinciding with the country’s 65th Independence Day celebrations.

Khan, now a promoter, has partnered with Dr. Ezekiel Adamu’s Balmoral Group Promotions to stage the event, tagged Chaos In The Ring. The show will be broadcast globally on DAZN and is expected to showcase African fighters alongside international stars.

“This is about inspiring a new generation and putting the spotlight on Nigerian talent,” Khan said. “Lagos is ready to shine, and the world will be watching.”

The main event will feature a cruiserweight clash between American Brandon Glanton (20-3, 17 KOs) and Britain’s Rocky Fielding (30-3, 18 KOs), a former WBA super-middleweight champion returning from a three-year layoff. Fielding has previously fought Canelo Álvarez, Callum Smith, and John Ryder.

The undercard includes several high-profile bouts. Ghana’s former IBF lightweight champion Richard Commey (30-5-1, 27 KOs) will face rising Kazakh prospect Ray Seitzhanov (13-1, 9 KOs). Britain’s Dan Azeez (21-2-1, 13 KOs), a former British, Commonwealth, and European champion, will also make his Nigerian debut.

Nigeria’s Basit Adebayo (9-0, 4 KOs) is billed to fight Tanzania’s Tony Rashid (17-4-3, 11 KOs) for the WBO Africa title, while unbeaten fighters Kerem Ozman (5-0) and Tosin Osaigbovo (12-0, 8 KOs) will face off. Knockout specialist Yusuf Adeniji (12-0, 10 KOs) and Ghana’s Elvis “The Soldier” Ahorgah (14-4, 13 KOs) are also on the bill.

For Balmoral Group CEO Ezekiel Adamu, the event represents more than sport. “This historic fight night marks a monumental moment for African boxing,” he said. “We are proud to showcase Nigeria’s talent and celebrate our heritage on a global stage.”

Nigeria has produced Olympic medalists and world contenders but has never hosted a professional card of this magnitude. Khan described the Lagos event as a foundation for future growth. “This is not just one night—it’s the beginning of something very special for African boxing,” he said.
