The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to reply to a new petition seeking to disqualify the governing All Progressive Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, for alleged violations of Section 90(3) of the Electoral Act.

In a judgement issued by Justice Ahmed Mohammed, the court also granted the plaintiff, Incorporated Trustees of Kingdom Human Rights Foundation International, authorization to seek an order of mandamus against INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu.

It ordered the INEC chairman, APC, and Tinubu, who were all named as defendants in the FHC/ABJ/CS/1960/2022 complaint, to file their defence by November 15, when the issue was adjourned for hearing.
