Ademola Adegoroye, Minister of State for Transportation, has promised to facilitate the Federal Government’s support for female professional and commercial drivers in the country.

On Wednesday, November 16th, the minister made the promise while receiving the leadership of the Female Drivers Association of Nigeria in his office in Abuja.

According to a statement by the minister’s Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Ebenezer Adeniyan, female commercial drivers are special and should be encouraged to thrive in their chosen profession.

Adegoroye went on to say that the federal ministry of transportation will look into the association’s request to hire female professional drivers in the ministry, emphasizing the importance of the government recognizing female drivers.

Earlier, FEDAN President Eunice Odeghe stated that the organization was formed to bring all women professional drivers and automobile workers together under one umbrella to promote their interests and deal with their challenges.

The minister was also named as a patron by the association.
