The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, has stated that the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has christened him Abraham, father of nations, ahead of the February 2023 presidential election.
The APC presidential candidate has been troubled by controversy over his decision to run on a Muslim-Muslim ticket.
Tinubu is a Muslim from the South West, as is his vice presidential candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima, a former governor of Borno state.
Since then, the APC presidential candidate has drawn the wrath of the Christian faith, with Northern Christians vowing to campaign against him, calling his choice of Muslim-Muslim ticket as an Islamisation agenda.
However, in an attempt to appease the enraged Christian community, the Lagos politician recounted in a viral video how Adeboye referred to him as Abraham when his wife, Remi, was ordained a pastor.
Tinubu revealed the information while meeting with representatives of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the Tijaniyya sect, and other Islamic organizations in Kano.
He slammed the major opposition Peoples Democratic Party PDP candidate, Atiku Abubakar, who recently encouraged northerners to vote exclusively for a northerner, not an Igbo or Yoruba person.
Kano Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, APC chieftains, and other dignitaries attended the ceremony.
