Thousands of residents of Ekiti state have gathered at the location where it’s governor elect Biodun Oyebanji will be sworn in as Governor.
Oyebanji and his deputy, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye would be sworn into office by Ekiti Chief Judge Justice, Oyewole Adeyeye.
The mandate of Oyebanji’s predecessor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, expired at 12 midnight, allowing the new helsman to take over the reigns of authority for the next four years.
The politician from Ikogosi, Ekiti, advancing to the prized seat will break the long-standing curse of recycled leadership and provide a platform for a thoroughbred local politician to rule Ekiti for the first time.
