TWITTER: Elon Musk Dissolves Board, Now Sole Director

Four days after acquiring Twitter, Elon Musk has dissolved the company’s board of directors.

According to Business Insider, the company announced the move in a document filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, which was published on Monday, October 31st “On October 27, 2022, and as a result of the Merger’s consummation, Mr. Musk became the sole director of Twitter.”

Terms of the Merger Agreement stated that, the following individuals who were directors of Twitter prior to the effective time of the Merger are no longer directors of Twitter: Brett Taylor, Parag Agrawal, Omid Kordestani, David Rosenblatt, Martha Lane Fox, Patrick Pichette, Egon Durban, Fei-Fei Li, and Mimi Alemayehou.”

Musk has been making changes to Twitter ever since he announced his official takeover of the company on Thursday, October 27th.

The new Twitter proprietor’s first move after officially closing the deal was to fire top executives at the company, including former CEO Parag Agrawal. Ned Segal, Chief Financial Officer; Vijaya Gadde, Chief Legal Officer; and Sean Edgett, General Counsel, were also fired on the same day.
