For users to remain verified, Twitter plans to start charging them close to $20 per month.
This is a component of a premium service that will be launched under Elon Musk’s direction, according to a report.
On Friday, October 28, Musk started serving as the social media company’s CEO.
Additionally, the business intends to increase the monthly cost of its optional premium “Twitter Blue” subscription from $4.99 to $19.99. However, internal correspondence and sources with knowledge of the situation indicate that the pricing is vulnerable to change.
Twitter will add more features, including verification, to compensate for the price increase.
Elon Musk intends to charge verified users a fee to maintain their verified status.
Existing verified users have 90 days after the launch of the new Twitter Blue to subscribe or their verification will be lost.
