On Wednesday, a Bus Rapid Transit vehicle slammed into a market fence in Demurin Junction, Ketu, Lagos State, killing three people and leaving many with injuries.
According to reports, the BRT experienced a brake failure when the event occurred at 7 a.m.
It was discovered that the driver lost control and slammed into a wall, colliding with another commercial bus carrying passengers.
According to Chukwuemeka Sunday, an eyewitness, the BRT crushed a woman returning from the market, an apprentice attempting to cross the road, and a wheelbarrow pusher.
The BRT driver fled the scene, while a good number of people who were wounded were also brought to a hospital for treatment.
Taofiq Adebayo, the LASTMA Director of Public Affairs, stated that the tragedy happened and took three lives.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, also verified three deaths.
