No fewer than seven people have lost their lives in transit as a commercial bus went up in flames, Sunday, September 25th, around Iyana Oworo, close to the Third Mainland Bridge, in Lagos.
According to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the unfortunate bus with the registration number KJA 699 GY, carried 14 passengers. Four females, two adult males, and one male child make up the number of deceased, with at least five other people were severely injured in the course of the accident.
Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, reported that the driver sustained some burns, and one male adult was treated on the scene by the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS), adding that three female adults who were involved in the incident were transported to Gbagada General Hospital for intensive care.
Oke-Osanyintolu mentioned that “LASTMA officials at the scene have made arrangements to remove the burnt vehicle from the road.”
