TRAGEDY: One Dead, Three Rescued In Anambra Accident

A ghastly road accident which occurred in Awka Anambra state has claimed a life, while three others were rescued unharmed in the wake of Friday, September 30.

The accident happened around 6 a.m. on the Awka-Onitsha expressway and involved a Toyota Hiace bus and a Mercedes Benz truck with four people on board.

According to an eyewitness, the truck driver reversed to drive against traffic when he collided with a bus coming from the opposite direction, killing one of the bus passengers.

Confirming the incident, Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Corps Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi blamed it on Route Violation.

He expressed sympathy to the deceased family and advised motorists to avoid reversing on the expressway and to drive defensively, paying close attention to what was going on around them.
