A man from Plateau State’s Bokkos local government area has died after nearly fulfilling his boast of being able to drink eleven bottles of the locally brewed alcoholic drink “Ogogoro” without becoming intoxicated.
According to Hafsat Abubakar of the Conflict Mediation Mitigation Regional Council (CMMRC) Plateau Chapter, the unidentified man asked the seller of the local gin to give him 11 bottles and swore he would finish them without problems.
Abubakar told the Nation that the man was able to consume nine bottles but was unable to finish the remaining two.
The man passed away immediately, and the seller quickly packed her wares and fled.
Before he died, the man was vomiting blood profusely from his nose, ears, and mouth.
According to the source, a passing hunter was shocked to see the dead man and alerted the villagers, who took him for burial.
The deceased was said to have a wife and five children.
