A tanker carrying fuel exploded on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, October 20th according to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). It was discovered that a bus was involved in the raging fire that occurred in Araromi town, near the Sagamu interchange in Ogun State.
According to Florence Okpe, the FRSC spokesperson in Ogun, the details of the incident are still sketchy.
Okpe stated that the rescue operation is still ongoing, but that the number of people involved has yet to be determined.
She explained that the area had been cordoned off and that traffic had been diverted to avoid a secondary clash.
“Drivers are advised to take alternate routes to avoid unnecessary delays.”
“Motorists are advised to remain calm and cooperate with traffic managers managing the situation,” she said.
