Tinubu Approves New Appointments Across Key Federal Agencies

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of new leadership for several strategic federal agencies, with notable names from across the country taking up key positions.

Among them is Muhammad Babangida, son of former military President Ibrahim Babangida, who has been appointed Chairman of the restructured Bank of Agriculture. Aged 53, Babangida hails from Niger State and holds degrees in Business Administration and Public Relations from Switzerland. He also completed an executive governance programme at Harvard Business School.

Other appointments include Lydia Kalat Musa from Kaduna State as Chairperson of the Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority, and Jamilu Wada Aliyu from Kano State as Chairman of the National Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC).

Also from Kano, Yahuza Ado Inuwa has been named Chairman of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), while Sanusi Musa (SAN) assumes the role of Chairman, Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution.

Professor Al-Mustapha Aliyu from Sokoto State has been appointed Director-General of the Directorate of Technical Cooperation in Africa.

From Oyo State, Tomi Somefun has been named Managing General of the National Hydro-Electric Power Areas Development Commission.

In Zamfara, Sanusi Garba Rikiji takes over as Director-General of the Nigerian Office for Trade Negotiations, while Abdulmumini Aminu-Zaria from Kaduna State becomes Executive Director of the Integrated Water Resources Management Commission.

The appointments reflect Tinubu’s ongoing efforts to reposition federal institutions for improved performance and national development.
