President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Deputy Controller-General (DCG) Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as the new substantive Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), effective August 14, 2025.
The announcement was made in a statement issued by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), and signed by its Secretary, Abdulmalik Jibrin.
According to the statement, Adeyemi’s appointment follows the imminent retirement of the current Controller-General, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, who is set to leave office on August 11, 2025, upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60.
DCG Adeyemi, who transferred from the FCT Fire Service to the Federal Fire Service, currently serves as Deputy Controller-General in charge of the Human Resource Directorate at the Service Headquarters. He brings extensive experience and has successfully completed all mandatory in-service training and command courses, both locally and internationally.
