Yunusa Tanko, a spokesman for the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council, stated that the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his crew were invited to The Experience 17, an annual gospel music performance.
Obi was among those who attended the event on Friday, which featured performances by Mercy Chinwo, Nathaniel Bassey, and Donnie Mcclurkin, among others.
The former governor of Anambra State was introduced with a standing ovation from the audience, which he acknowledged by rising up and waving to them.
During the occasion, a stand-up comedian, Jephthah Bowoto, commonly known as Akpororo, took a shot at Obi, claiming the former governor was fond of attending parties to which he was not invited.
Festus Keyamo, spokesman for the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, also threw shade, saying such characters were insulting Christians’ intelligence.
