Major General Muhammadu Buhari (ret.) is currently meeting with security chiefs to review and strengthen the nation’s security network.
To preside over the emergency meeting with the security chiefs, the president postponed some of his official engagements, including the inauguration of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure’s new Technology and Innovation complex.
The meeting was attended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, the President’s Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, and the National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno (retd.).
Others are: Gen. Lucky Irabor, Chief of Defence Staff; Lt. Gen. Farouk Yahaya, Chief of Army Staff; Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo, Chief of Naval Staff; and Air Marshal Isiaka Amao, Chief of Air Staff.
The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, the Director-General of the Department of State Service, Yusuf Bichi, and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Rufai, are also present.
