Following back-to-back gains in Nigeria’s equities market, investors’ wealth have grown by N253 billion in two consecutive trading sessions.
The market had resumed the trading week in negative territory, but Wednesday and Thursday’s gains pushed the market back to the green and made investors’ sentiments positive on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX).
Specifically, the shares of Airtel Africa and Dangote Cement increased, resulting in the All Share Index (ASI) gaining 1.06 per cent to settle at 43,939.68 points while market capitalization which opened trading at N23.681 trillion, closed at N23.934 trillion at the close of trading on Thursday, resulting in N253 billion.
Consequently, the ASI’s year-to-date (YTD) return rose to 2.86 per cent.
