The federal government has promised Nigerians that everyone in the country would be safe and secure.
The guarantee was given by Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture, at a ministerial session of the current UNESCO Global Media and Information Literacy Week in Abuja.
The government’s reassurance follows a security notice issued by the US Embassy in Abuja on Sunday.
Mohammed, on the other hand, stated that Nigeria’s security forces are doing all necessary to safeguard and protect Nigerians and foreigners in the nation.
He further stated that the military and other security agencies have been very aggressive in dealing with security challenges.
He went on to say that some media institutions and social media celebrities are frequently discovered distributing fake news on their platforms for clickbait purposes.
