Imo state police command operatives shot and killed one person, while five others ran into the bushes at the UBA roundabout in the Orlu local government area of Imo state, suspecting them to be members of the armed organisation of the Eastern Security Network, ESN, of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
Micheal Abattam, the Imo state Police Public Relations Officer, told reporters in Owerri on Friday.
According to the police, the hoodlums attacked the policemen on stop and search duty last Thursday, resulting in a gun duel in which one of the suspected hoodlums was killed by the officers’ superior firepower and others escaped into the surrounding bushes.
