Bello Matawalle, the governor of Zamfara State, reiterated his administration’s commitment to restoring peace and peaceful coexistence among Zamfarans on Monday.
This is according to a statement published on Monday in Gusau, the state capital, by Matawalle’s Special Adviser on Public Enlightenment, Media, and Communications, Zailani Bappa.
The governor congratulated the Muslim Ummah in the state and around the world on the anniversary of Prophet Muhammad’s birth.
As a means of combating criminality, the governor charged clerics in the state with preaching messages of peace and peaceful cooperation among Muslims at the grassroots level.
He linked young involvement in banditry, abduction, and other criminality in the state to a lack of knowledge of the Prophet’s exemplary life.
