On Sunday, Kwara State police said they detained three suspects in the robbery and rape of female students at Kwara State University, Malete, in the Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Ridwan Abdulfatai (20), Ibrahim Akorede (25), and Aliyu Apalado (25), all from Ilorin’s Oke Fomo area, are the accused.
In a statement, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ajayi Okasanmi, stated the arrest was made in response to reports from female students that they were robbed in their Malete hostel around midnight on Friday, October 7, 2022.
Okasanmi stated that the police commissioner promised to charge the suspects in court once the inquiry was completed.
