Eight-time Nigerian league champions, Rangers International FC, kicked off their 2025/2026 NPFL preseason with a narrow 1-0 win over Oriental rivals Abia Warriors in the opening game of the 7th Tico/Select-Ifeanyi Ekwueme Preseason Tournament.

Despite increased pressure, Rangers’ backline, marshaled by the solid pairing of Monday Daniel and Iwundu Chidozie, stood firm. Goalkeeper George Abine remained composed, pulling off key saves to preserve the clean sheet.
